The work

What you will do and what you need

This is a hunting role. Most of your week is spent meeting owners at their shops, at supply houses and on job sites, then showing them where they are losing calls online. You will use our free Lead Engine Scorecard to open every conversation.

Careers in outside sales: a rep on the phone with a Dallas–Fort Worth contractor

A typical week

A week as an outside sales rep in Dallas–Fort Worth

Every week looks a little different, but the rhythm stays the same. As our outside sales rep, you plan your route across the metro, block time for prospecting and save your best hours for meetings with owners.

Mornings are good for supply houses, where HVAC techs, plumbers and electricians pick up parts before their first call. Short, friendly conversations there turn into appointments later in the week.

Midday is for owner meetings. You pull up their Google listing and website, run the Lead Engine Scorecard together and show them where competitors are getting the calls they are missing.

Afternoons are for follow-up: proposals, phone calls and check-ins with clients you have already closed. Happy clients are your best source of referrals in a trade where everyone knows everyone. You can see the kind of results you will be selling on our results page.

Who does well

Who thrives as an outside sales rep with us

The outside sales reps who do best here like talking to business owners and are not afraid of a no. They ask good questions, listen more than they talk and follow up when they say they will.

You do not need to be a marketer. Contractors do not buy SEO; they buy more booked jobs. If you can explain why a homeowner picks one roofer over another after a Google search, you can sell this. Our guides on roofing marketing and HVAC marketing show how we talk to owners.

Reps from roofing, solar, HVAC equipment, supply house, insurance, payroll and media sales often pick this up fast, because they already know how trade owners think and when they are free to talk.

Because the role is 100% commission, it fits people who are driven by upside and comfortable running their own calendar. There is no ceiling on what a strong outside sales rep can earn here, and it is the kind of start that turns into long sales careers.

Why this role

Why sales careers grow faster here

Every contractor in DFW needs to be found online. You bring them a product that makes the phone ring, with a team behind it that does the work.

01

Uncapped commission

You are paid on what you close, with no ceiling. There is no base pay, so your income is in your hands.

02

A product contractors need

Texas homeowners search Google and AI tools before they call. Contractors without a strong website and listing lose those jobs.

03

A team behind every sale

You sell it, we build it. Our team handles design, SEO and delivery so you can stay in front of new owners.

04

Your own territory

Dallas, Fort Worth, Arlington, Plano, Frisco and the rest of the metro. Build a book of clients who know you by name.
